Terms and Conditions

Mischief Management, LLC (hereafter referred to as “Conference Organizer”) agrees to provide such spaces to Author at Romance Con 2025: Milwaukee, and reserves the right to refuse any potential Author for any reason. Romance Con 2025 will be held at the Baird Center/ Wisconsin Center (hereafter referred to as “Venue”).

Purpose of Conference 

 

The purpose of Romance Con is to bring together the community of fans for a weekend of celebration and entertainment.

​

Incorporation of Exhibit

 

Exhibit A is hereby incorporated fully herein and shall be deemed part of this Agreement.

Compliance with Law

 

Author is solely responsible for ensuring its compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including any required qualification to do business; any sales, permits, tax rules and regulations; any fire codes or regulations; and any law governing promotions, contests, raffles, giveaways or games. Conference Organizer does not accept any responsibility for Author’s failure to comply with any applicable law, rule, or regulation. In the event that Author does not comply with all applicable laws, Conference Organizer may require that Author comply immediately or close Author space immediately. Author hereby indemnifies and holds harmless Conference Organizer as well as their officers, directors, agents, employees, volunteers, representatives, and respective successors and assigns, against any and all liability arising from or relating to Author’s compliance or failure to comply with any law, rule, or regulation.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Merchandise

 

Author is solely responsible, and assumes all of the risk, for lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise or other materials. The Conference Organizer does not accept responsibility or assume any risk for any lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise.

Limitation of Liability

 

Neither author nor conference organizer shall be liable to the other or to any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, and consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profit or goodwill, for any matter arising out of or relating to this agreement.

Breach

 

In the event that Author breaches this Agreement, including without limitation, any of the Rules and Regulations in Exhibit A, Conference Organizer reserves the right to terminate this Agreement immediately without notices or refund, and either close Author’s space(s) immediately, if the breach occurs during Romance Con; or, resell Author’s space if the breach occurs prior to Romance Con.

 

If Author engages in any misconduct which might bring Authors into public disrepute, contempt, scandal, or ridicule, or which violates any event guidelines or reflects unfavorably on the event, including but not limited to violation of any laws or allegations of inappropriate behavior, any funds paid by Authors will not be refunded in the event of behavior-related cancellation or removal from the event.

General Terms and Conditions

 

This Agreement is made pursuant to the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any changes made to this Agreement must be made in a writing signed by both parties. Conference Organizer may terminate this Agreement at any time upon notice to Author and shall, within a reasonable time thereafter, refund any portion of the payment that the Author has paid to Conference Organizer.

Exhibit A: Rules and Regulations

 

SIZE AND LOCATION

 

SIZE: A SPACE is a dedicated area in Romance Con's Author Room, for the express purpose of signing and promotion of books and goods in which its guests may be interested. Spaces come in the following sizes: Author Table: Table and 2 chairs.

 

LOCATION: Conference Organizer reserves the right to assign the location of each Author’s space within the signing room according to its sole discretion.

 

AMENITIES

 

Each space includes at least the following Amenities:

One (1) table of at least 6 feet

Two (2) chairs

One (1) Author badge to the conference which allow entrance to the convention, excluding separately- ticketed events

One (1) Assistant badge Badges must be worn by Author’s staff while they are staffing the space to identify the as official personnel. Badges are non-transferable and provide access to the convention, excluding separately-ticketed events.

 

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

 

Vendors requiring services or materials not listed under the Amenities (the “Additional Services”) must purchase such Additional Services from either the Venue or our exhibitor services company. Authors shall not install Additional Services, including, without limitation, internet or electricity, on their own or through a service provider other than those specified by the Conference Organizer. Any Author purchasing or using Additional Services hereby indemnifies and holds harmless Conference Organizer as well as its officers, directors, agents, employees, volunteers, representatives and respective successors and assigns, against any and all liability arising from or relating to Author’s purchase or use of Additional Services.

TRADEMARK & COMPLIANCE

 

Goods sold by Author at Romance Con may not include any food or beverage items, or any items including the Romance Con name or logo unless dictated by a separate agreement. Goods bearing copyrighted material may not be sold unless by the copyright holder or through a leasing agreement which Romance Con reserves the right to request at any time. Conference Organizers reserve the right to request the removal of any item from the Authors table at any time. Authors found to be in violation of any of the above terms may be removed from the event at any time, without refund.

 

MATERIAL HANDLING

 

All Vendors and Advertisers not directly transporting merchandise and materials to the Venue themselves will require material handling by our bookstore.

 

PROMOTION

 

Conference Organizer may include each Author’s name, logo, and/or a brief description of your work in future promotions. It is the Author’s responsibility to furnish Conference Organizer with a usable logo and website URL for promotion when requested by the Conference Organizer. Authors and all related staff members assisting them at the event, agree that their likeness, if captured by onsite staff members, photographers or videographers, may be used by Mischief Management or any of its associated entities for any legitimate purpose including promotional and commercial. Conference Organizers will be allowed permission to photograph, record, document, and share the likeness of Authors during the full duration of the event cycle. Ownership of all materials, inclusive of photographs, video, recordings, and related products, gathered onsite will remain property of the Conference Organizers. Conference Organizers retain the right to replicate, publish, share, market and general usage rights with the aforementioned materials.

PRICE AND PAYMENT

PRICE: Author agrees to pay Conference Organizer amount of $200.

PAYMENT: Payments must be paid in full at time of acceptance. Author space is NOT confirmed until you have paid in full. All payments are final and no refunds will be issued for cancelations.
